Plugging In-Mine Boreholes with Reformulated Polymer Gel and Target’s New Gel Unit
Target Drilling has successfully plugged five (5) in-mine boreholes illustrated below totaling 27,506 feet including sidetracks pumping 32,790 gallons of reformulated gel with Target Drilling’s new gel mixing and pumping unit. The reformulated gel was pumped via two 1 ¼ inch plastic slick lines suspended by steel cable down a cased vertical venthole and run to the in-mine horizontal wellheads. Mine-through of each borehole by the longwall face has occurred without incident as the boreholes were filled with cured gel.
