Target Drilling's surface and underground directional drilling technologies can successfully degasify (remove the methane) coalbeds that are or will be mined. This degasification greatly improves the safety during mining, reduces production delays due to methane and water, and reduces costly ventilation requirements. Degasification also reduces the release of the particularly onerous greenhouse gas- methane- into the atmosphere. Depending on the coalbed thickness, extent, and gas content, the methane can also be captured and sold or utilized on site for profit and resource preservation.
